Conspicuous Construction

Or reconstruction.  Above, looking south a while ago from the Brooklyn end of the Williamsburg Bridge.  Just below l-r: (1) near Courthouse Square in Long Island City.  And three Greenpoint sights: (2) on Kingsland Ave., (3) on Greenpoint Ave., and (4) at Greenpoint Ave. & Newtown Creek.

Just above l-r: (1) 275 Madison Ave., (2) the bottom of 5th Ave. from Washington Square, (3) on 5th Ave. near 27th St., and (4) Central Park South from the park.  Just below l-r: (1) on 42nd St. at Vanderbilt Ave., (2 & 3) Brooklyn Bridge construction from Water St., and (4) Irving Place & 19th St.

And finally, below, on Broadway near 12th St. a while ago.

Across WTC & Downtown

Above, looking southeast across the WTC site; that's the US Realty Building in the distance above Tower 2 construction.  Below left, south to the West Street Bldg.

Above right, looking south from the West Side Highway above Battery Park City; the new 1 WTC is on the right.  Below, the pointy American International Building seen across town from near the same spot.

56th & Park Construction

The world's longest exhaust is still there, above right.

Construction

Above, next to the Chamber of Commerce on Liberty St. off Broadway.  It's been like that for a few years.

Left, a while ago at the Thurgood Marshall U.S. Courthouse, 40 Centre St.  Below, on 11th Ave. near 23rd St.

World Trade Center Construction

Tower 3, at the southeast corner of the site

The new 1 WTC (aka Freedom Tower, left) reflected in 7 WTC

Above and below, the top of the new 1 WTC from the Westside Highway.  The wind that day and the charcoal tufting of the tarp made the sight a little unsettling, especially lower left.
